The Magnificent Men Flew in Again!

On stage once more at the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop RMVC donned flying helmets, goggles and scarves to entertain the audience with another eclectic programme of music. Plus, for the first time the choir gave a warm welcome to special guests the all-female Romsey Songbird.

It was a beautiful autumn evening and RMVC singers arrived fired up perform some of their favourite pieces in the first half of the concert including Unchained Melody, Bring Him Home from Les Miserables, and Elvis Presley’s famous American Trilogy. After the interval they moved the audience with the emotive Prayer of the Children sung in sympathy with the plight of children in Ukraine. Finally they couldn’t resist once again singing a venue special Those Magnificent Men (in their flying machines) with just a bit of choreography and fun.

Romsey Songbird’s programme of music started with Lennon & McCartney’s Blackbird, followed by the beautiful song The Rose, and in the second half Turn, Turn, Turn and I Have a Dream.

Coming together for two joint numbers the choirs sang Harbour written by Anna Tabbush and a footballing favourite You’ll Never Walk Alone.

The evening concluded as always with an adrenalin filled social Afterglow at the Museum.

Thanks to the Army Flying Museum for welcoming RMVC again. Thanks to Marion Maxey, Musical Director of both Choirs, and to Brian Budden RMVC Accompanist and Sophie Aynsley Romsey Songbird Accompanist.
